FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 12/18/22
Port Chester, NY: Pastime Creatives LLC, creators of on-field sports uniforms, sports lifestyle apparel, and historic sports art, has officially entered into a creative licensing agreement with the Estate of Ty Cobb & cmgworldwide.com. The company will utilize Ty Cobb’s name and image to provide fans with high quality items such as their signature Ty Cobb apparel, a rotating and wide variety of creative wall art, and vintage style tobacco art cards.
On the company’s recently negotiated relationship with the Estate of Ty Cobb, young creative manager Tyrus Ostrowski stated, “Everyone at Pastime is honored and beyond excited for the opportunity to engage in creative projects proudly featuring baseball’s unparalleled superstar Ty Cobb.” Proudly named after the “Georgia Peach” by his parents, Tyrus continued on, “My father raised me to be aware of the mistruths spread about Mr. Cobb after his passing in 1961, and we at Pastime want to steer clear of all those ridiculous lies. We will be offering Cobb fans apparel and creative collectibles which represent the true greatness and legacy of baseball’s very first Hall of Fame player, Tyrus Raymond Cobb.”
Ty Cobb, also known as the “Georgia Peach” was arguably the greatest player to ever play baseball. His .367 lifetime batting average over an amazing 24 year career is a daunting record which will more than likely never be approached. Playing most of his career in a time frame referred to as the “Deadball Era,” (1901-1920), Cobb was widely known as the pastime’s most prolific hitter and base runner. Fans of the game in every American city packed into big league ball parks in hopes of witnessing Cobb in action; maybe scoring from first base on a single, or catching a glimpse of the Detroit star as he utilized one of his nine contorting slides to avoid the awaiting baseman and his tag. The great Babe Ruth was quoted in 1945, on who he thought was the greatest player of all time; the Babe explained, “Cobb led the league twelve times in 13 years, three times with over .400 averages, finished with a lifetime mark of .367 and tops all hitters in total hits, runs, triples, total bases and stolen bases and you have the greatest player of them all!”
In confirmation of Ty Cobb’s lifetime greatness, in 1936 he was the first player inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame located in Cooperstown, NY. Ty would handily lead the inaugural HOF class in voting; which included classmates Honus Wagner, Babe Ruth, Christy Mathewson and Walter Johnson.
